Retrofitting of existing DMG MORI machines

Retrofitting existing machines is easy thanks to SHERPA's universal I/O interface, regardless of the age of the machine and the NC control system used. This means that modern automation technologies can also be integrated into tried-and-tested existing systems - without significant intervention in the existing machine control system. New machines are connected via Profibus, Profinet or Ethernet/IP. Communication with older machines takes place via free M functions and potential-free contacts.

DMG MORI machines that do not have a rotary union on the 4th and 5th axes pose particular challenges. We can implement automation with torque-accurate control of the tightening torque. We will show you how you can optimally implement the robot retrofit for your DMG MORI.

Our automation solution allows flexible loading via the work or side door, not only for DMUs, while access to existing peripherals such as tool magazines and chip conveyors is always maintained. The SherpaLoader® provides NTX mill-turn machines with a first-class automation solution. Industrial 6-axis robots are used to precisely load and efficiently edit milled and turned parts. The SherpaLoader® enables the Machining of both small and very large batch sizes and almost all types of parts such as castings, sawn sections, shafts and semi-finished products. In addition, the option of using standard Euro pallets as feeders makes it easy to retrofit your machines - even if they were not originally designed for automation processes.

CLX TC turn-millers also benefit from the SherpaLoader®. Milled and turned parts can be inserted without any problems. Workpieces do not have to be stackable. Small and very large batch sizes can be efficiently edited. The space available allows a wide variety of parts to be processed - such as castings, saw cuts, shafts and semi-finished products.
